What are your interests? Food / drink? Drives? Exercise / sports? When does "after work hours" start?

King Fish in San Mateo is a very good restaurant. Downtown Redwood City also has a little night life and restaurants around the movie theater. If you get off work early enough, the Hiller Aviation Museum at San Carlos Airport is well worth a visit.
Otherwise, there's SF just up 101.

Sorry, pretty normal work hours. Should be done by 5 each day. I got in to the Sofitel and there didn't seem to be anything restaurant/bar wise near by.
The aviation museum sounds interesting! Hope they have favorable hours. Otherwise I'll have to head into San Fran for a visit to the Tonga Room

Downtown San Carlos is nice for dinner, a drink on the patio and people watching. Use Yelp to figure out what you like. The main drag is Laurel Street.
I would try to bail out early, make it to Half Moon Bay (HMB), take a walk or jog on Poplar Beach or HMB state beach and have dinner at HMB Brewing Company, watching the sunset from their patio through a glass of pale ale. If you can't make it out early, head straight to HMB brewing company patio! ![]() G ![]() Poplar ![]() State

Let us know what you decide to do. I am too busy to come join, otherwise I'd suggest a little drive in the 993 on skyline boulevard.
![]() Speaking of that. There is Alice's restaurant on Skyline west of Woodside. Good food and drink, sit on porch with heaters and always cars / motorcycles to see. G |

Also if you want to have the best Crab Louie EVER, take a ride to Gilda's on the wharf in Santa Cruz. It is quite a drive from Redwood Shores (probably an hour) but I've been going there since I was 12 years old and order the same thing even to this day: Crab Louie, side of fry's and a Cherry Coke.

Aigel's idea of Half Moon Bay is good. I live there. It was 84 degrees yesterday, and still balmy at sunset. The brewing company is great, and so is Sam's Chowder House. This is a rare opportunity to visit our coast during warm weather, so I would take it.

I wish I had a rental car! I love half moon bay, seems like there is a lot of neat stuff if you have easy transportation.
