Well, crap, had I known you were there, I would have had you over for a beer. Where did you stay ?
Hey - our locale was Kitty Hawk @4.5 mile post on beach road #3808. No one or structure in front of us to block the beautiful view. You were there?
Where do you plan to ride? I think beach bikes are cool at the beach since everything is flat and laid back. Add in a few hills, traffic or a crowded road/path and they loose some appeal. As mentioned, dont get hung up on wheel size until you get to a bike shop and get fit.
Good luck, riding a bike is a win in so many ways. |
I think our plan is to motor around our subdivision and there is a decommissioned Army base next to us that is slowly turning into a office / multi-use park. So no long distances, just slow and having fun while we burn some calories ..........

cool beans. I mention terrain as even a slight, gradual hill can be a grind if the gearing isnt right. No need for anything complicated but its worth looking at something with more than 3 speeds.
I'm all for multi-speed but just cannot convince my wife. She loves the simplicity of no gears with coaster brake. Me.................I like a little more leverage.
Good luck, I've been there too.
