I didn't really say everything I said.
In honor of baseball legend Yogi Berra, I thought it would be cool for us to remember some of his best Yogi-isms. My favorite is in the title.
Edit: Great stories about Yogi are cool too. |
'A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore.'
"It ain't over till it's over."
Great stuff |
it's like Deja Vu all over again.
That's my favorite one!
I've heard the name, but have no idea who he is?
He's that cartoon bear that steals picnic baskets, with his sidekick Boo-Boo.
'You can observe a lot by watching.'
"Pair off into threes."
“Baseball is 90 percent mental. The other half is physical.”
Cool story: Yogi was a "garbage hitter". He could pick up the ball so well he could hit almost anything inside or outside the strike zone. One time a pitcher threw one in the dirt in front of the plate. It bounced up and Yogi got a hit off of the bounce! Talk about good eyes and fast reflexes. |
"Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."
'We're lost, but we're making good time.'
“If the people don’t want to come out to the ballpark, nobody’s going to stop them.”
“We made too many wrong mistakes.”
'Never answer an anonymous letter.'
"Those guys on PPOT know everything"

Not sure if this was Yogi's or Casey Stengel's line - another colourful & quotable character of a bygone era. You'll be missed Yogi. RIP Sir |
'The future ain't what it used to be.'

"If you come to a fork in the road: take it."
