Rough starts

I'm an engine nut. I don't know why but nothing gets my blood boiling like a rough start after a long rest. Maybe it's just the anticipation of what's about to happen.
I'll post a couple to see if we can get it going
Post a rough start.

Well I don't have a video, but a Ducati with flat slide carbs on a cold day ain't no picnic.

Some cool big old engines... Would be neat to have one around to tinker with...

My old TR6 sounded wonderful waking up. Wish I had a wav file to share.

Not a rough start per se...I became intimate with the A1E Skyraider in Viet Nam.
18 cylinders were LOUD and it was amazing when they'd shake the ground all around them. Nearly cause mental distortion.
Many nicknames for this bird - one was "Flying Dump Truck." 8,000 lb. payload.

Looked for a good one of the BRM V-16, but nothing really stood out. Anyway, this is pretty crazy! Not a "rough start" per se, but....

I dig it!

Cool stuff

I really like the big old diesels. I'm not sure how much longer these things will be around, how many know what levers to pull or even where the levers are??

Rednine11 09-24-2015 07:08 AM

not a bad start but a 22 ton Diesel two stroke..

I used to think that when you went to hell, the Devil gave you an accordion to play and a Fuhrmann 4-cam engine to time, now I think this is what he issues for you to tune-up:

You're welcome. ;)
.
BTW, those Skyraiders were used as low support by the USAF in VN...a very welcomed sight, I must say!
You could hear them coming for miles away.
A Pelican by the name of Bryson Baker Biggs (BBaker_Biggs) flew them...I met him over there.
He shows up here now/then.
Shot down on his last month of duty - rescued.
Battlefield full bird Colonel - first and only tour of duty. Interesting, no-nonsense fellow. You'd want him as your neighbor.
A retired psychiatrist now.
.
OK boys. As you were.
