My wife complaining about pizza
My wife spends $50 on two pizzas delivered. One was pepperoni which she quickly says is mine. When they showed up, they were cold and the pepperoni looked like it had. Been reheated several times. So, always quick to try and right the wrong, she calls the pizza place. They put her on hold for 10 minutes and she gets pissed. She calls back demanding to speak to the manager and my 23 yo daughter records the call. Notice how she blames me and then makes a stinky face when they guy says he will send over two more pizzas!

I can tell you this. If a bar owner tells you kitchen is closed, and you throw down your credit card, and announce to the whole bar (many of whom are regulars that hate you) that "I don't care how much it cost to get those lazy bags of schit in the back to make us food", ummmmmm.......yeah.......you don't want to eat that food. And you certainly don't want to see the huge laugh the entire bar and staff had after you left. |

Making your own pizza is a piece of cake - no pun intended. If making dough holds you back, you can buy it ready to use. $50 for 2 pizzas is ludicrous. You can make that for $8 tops at home and it won't be cold and taste like soggy cardboard either! We cook from scratch or if we don't cook, we go to a nice sit down restaurant. Only take out is burritos from the taqueria. Those travel well and hold their temp / flavor. I get pizza at work lunches / dinners and they are just crap. Even if we order from a pizzeria that makes great pizza - if consumed on site.

Wow, I would be pissed about the $50, we usually make our own pizzas (we prefer the thick "Chicago style") and can adjust the recipe as desired. The cardboard crap that comes in a delivery box is almost inedible....way too dry.

Old miss Duffy was a real pia. She was a large old lady that ordered twice a week. She always complained , and tried to get free food out of us. It was a regular affair. After chewing out my co workers ass one afternoon, he decided he was going to put LSD on her pizza, and thought it would be funny. I asked him if he " had lost his fukaking mind" that she would surely freak out, and end up in the hospital and who knows, maybe even die, with us being charged with manslaughter. He still put it on the pizza and was determined to get it to her. I threw that pie in the trash. We then had a heated little battle which ended up with us throwing some fists. Oddly enough, in all my years in the pizza joints, I don't remember anybody spitting on food, or putting boogers in it. We were always pranking each other in the place though, If your drink was left un attended , it may end up with a squirt of dish soap in it. Or sandwiches, were known to get an extra dose of salt, or garlic if they were left sitting un guarded .

This and the "keeper wife" thread on the same day...
Was there some paranormal space activity recently that caused a little wrinkle in the PPOT universe? (And somebody, please, educate the masses on the joys of using landscape instead of portrait when you record video with the damn iphone.) |

OK, 1 common story is when she was bar-tending and guys would be over-the-top obnoxious, hitting on her she'd squirt a little visenne (or similar eye wash) into their drink............................then sit back and watch.

Edit to add: Just saw the video, your wife is hawt... WTH are you doing calling out for pizza? You should be taking her out on the town. And yes... as the husband it is always our fault... I have only been married five years and I have figured that out.

We get Papa Murphy's take and bake. Price isn't bad and it is a lot of pizza. Family size is 4lbs and $12 with a coupon.

I would never have eaten those second pizzas they sent, no way. I would throw them all in the trash and bash the place on yelp, or whatever the cool kids check to see where to shop.

I believe your wife had every right to complain about her order...but... I would have been more cordial to the manager on the phone. He says "hi" and she says nothing and goes straight into her complaint. Take some time to treat people like human beings. I know she was ticked but a little tact goes a long way. We all are only human after all and mistakes happen.
Ten minutes on hold is not a long time (in my opinion) when an eatery is very busy. Most chains want their customers to be happy with their orders and go out of their way to prevent bad "word of mouth" from getting around. In some chains, the Manager is making the pies while others are taking the orders. I understand both sides here. I think this place went out of its way to cure the problem by sending over two fresh pizzas. I don't think anyone along the way added any "special sauce" or "non-standard crunchies" to the pizzas. Most pizza chains have an open area where they make the pies that is visible to customers in the store. When you are delivering 10 to 15 pizzas on each run, you don't have time to pull one out of the rotation and mess around with it. Most of my friends were happy to make the deliveries because they made more in tips. You just get the orders and deliver them. You don't usually say "Hey, wasn't I just here? Time to clear the sinuses." As far as the video, I think he states his daughter shot it and posted it.
