Pulled the trigger....shopped against everything else it seems and kept coming right back to this.

Handling is remarkable. Rev-happy turbo more than capable.

Really digging this car.

I'll post some better pics once the sun comes out again.

Caddy has come along way, especially in the last few years with the CSV..........

I would like to take it to a few hpde days! I could school some fools with that car.

Sicklyscott 09-27-2015 10:35 AM

I love that color combo.

onewhippedpuppy 09-27-2015 10:43 AM

Congrats! I haven't driven one, but the reviews have been excellent. Cadillac is the only GM brand that seems to be actually trying to build excellent cars.

The interior inserts are carbon fiber with red accents....it was actually hard to find, and the dealer couldn't move it because it was a manual. Jeez, what's the world coming to? 4 of our 5 vehicles are stick.....

DanielDudley 09-27-2015 06:28 PM

Well done. I'm envious.

sand_man 09-27-2015 06:30 PM

Man, that's nice!

BlueSkyJaunte 09-27-2015 06:33 PM

Nice. Ever since my wife brought home a tester CTS from work (she used to be in the V6 powertrain group at the Desert Proving Ground here in AZ) I've been a fan.

Somehow I've never pulled the trigger on one, though. Probably because I was stuck in a TDI phase. Well, that's over now so maybe there's a Caddy in our future. :D

KevinTodd 09-28-2015 03:16 AM

Thanks, guys.

I still can't quite believe I actually did it, either, but at least I did all of my homework this time.....and spent a year or so test-driving just about everything.

Two of my top 5 were shockers....this one (which wasn't that shocking I guess since I was drawn to it), and the Genesis.

The thought of buying a Hyundai scared me--and I truly think that's a foolish way for me to think---that car was very, very nice. Rock solid, quiet, powerful, and the interior was incredible. The Caddy just won out---and maybe I was a little biased too.

I've had company cars since 2000, and although I've bought cars since--an Element for one of the businesses, a Fiat for my wife, and of course my current Targa, it's the first car I've bought for me since 1997. I consider that restraint.

Nickshu 09-28-2015 03:44 AM

Those are sweet cars. Congrats!

Chocaholic 09-28-2015 03:49 AM

The streets of Atlanta will never be the same!

Enjoy!

So did you get a great deal on it because it was stick or were they holding out for an enthusiast?

MBAtarga 09-28-2015 07:17 AM

Fantastic... Go out to eat to celebrate!

If only there were a restaurant (or two) to recommend...

Yes. As I was doing an online search, I noticed the interior color and clicked through the set of pics only to spot the shifter. It wasn't even mentioned in the ad copy that it was a manual, so I called them and they told me that they'd had two other people come to see it only to walk away because of the manual.

I may have an idea, Mark!

BTW isn't it about time for some type of ATL Pelican get-together?

At the very least perhaps a fall mountain tour (and an excuse to drink beer in Helen).

Very rad car! My entire youth, I never cared much for American cars (80's and 90's) and Caddy was low on the list. Boy have times changed! I hope they continue to make cars like these!

ben parrish 09-29-2015 04:06 AM

Looked at a lot of them recently at the "wannaGOFAST" high speed shootout at Heavans Landing in Clayton, Ga. The cars are beautiful and FAST!
There is a tuner in Atlanta cthat had some CTS's there that were seriously fast...150 plus mph in a standing half mile fast. Look up Vengeance Racing...unbelievable performance from these cars.

A friend of mine has one, how's the electronic throttle lag?

I'm guessing they have made some software improvements to the "drive-by-wire" systems by now.

Throttle response is very good at low RPM and astounding once the turbo spools......
