Son's car and house keeps getting egged
 

Cops can't do anything. I'm getting ticked off! This time the hit was square on the door of his brand new GTI. A few weeks ago, it was his car, my mother's car and several places on the house. Before that they nailed my second floor bedroom window breaking the screen.

Going to find some sort of security camera system I guess.

Any suggestions on this situation welcome.

What roll has your son played in this? WHY is he being targeted? I'd try to get to the source of the issue first and deescalate it in an adult fashion....YMMV. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do even with a security system, but I'd bet your son already knows who/what is behind this. Good luck!

I was a teen once....a LONG time ago....one time in hs we had a neighborhood girl being harassed by the "country club crowd"....the rest of us found out and believe me, it STOPPED dead in it's tracks. Teens will be teens...privledged or not :(

Do you have anti bullying laws in your state? Set up a game camera to get pictures of the perps. Go to the school / police and get this taken care of.

Sounds more like the police WONT do anything vs. can't do anything...

Talk to your son. He may have a good idea who's doing it. If he doesn't, someone he knows will know. Kids can't keep their mouths shut. Someone's talking about it.

It has to stop. Zero tolerance for bullying IRL or in the "Social Media"! Zero!

Put an IP camera outside, high up( have to be an Olympic egg thrower to obscure the lens). You'll see on your phone who the culprits are.

We think we know who's doing it. The last time it was earlier during a party my son was having. He grabbed a bicycle and circled the neighborhood finding two trouble makers, one from across the street. Of course he denies it. This is a known bad family. Most of the kids dream drugs or do them.

My son is a band kid with a new car, that's his roll. We had an issue before the new car though.

It sucks that one can't have something even slightly nice without some little brat trying to ruin it.

Have a chat with the kid's parents, or ask the cops to have that chat for you. Deny it or not, if he thinks he's caught, he might quit. On the off-chance he didn't do it, his friend might have and the word will get out.

Ask the cops to talk to the kid and his parents that you suspect, get the camera going, one obvious, another not so obvious

Someone was walking their dog, and it was crapping by my sister's mailbox every few days. She put up a simple sign, saying the property was under video surveillance, along with a copy of the local penalties and fines if the dog walker was caught. That was enough to stop it.

So I'd probably put up a sign, and a few $10 decoy cameras.

Park in garage?

I would for sure call the police for every incident of egg throwing. Back right after I got married we had just a two car garage and my El Camino had to live outside. Some neighborhood kids came down the street egging cars. I got real lucky in that the egg landed right in the bed of the Elky on a rubber mat. That egg ate the surface of the rubber and even after 24 years I can see the spot where the egg damaged the rubber. Other cars were no so lucky. We all filed police reports and the punks were caught but nothing really happened except the kids did not do it again.

File a report for every incident. The police will have a record of it and if anything escalates at all there will be evidence of what happened, not just he said she said.

Yes indeed....sux. I like the idea of having the cops have a friendly chat with the perps/parents. Wish you lived near me....one of my tenants (LEO) would gladly put the fear of a BIG HASSLE into their nonsense (in an unofficial capacity). Officially, cops probably can't/won't do much....but unofficially ;). Know any LEOs? Good luck!

a game camera is a good idea. but you'll need some strategic trees or something to hang them..and it would be best to get game cam security. mine has a lockbox and a cable. hang it up high where the thieves need a ladder.

Picked up a nice Moultrie from Gander Mtn. a couple of months ago....keep it in "90 sec movie mode"....

I've got over 20 deer on one of my properties...had NO idea there were that many ;)
