Where to place compressor dryer
I got a new dryer system for my compressor. Compressor is on second floor. Rapid Air lines run up from the compressor into the ceiling over to the blast cabinet or down to the garage. I paint both in the garage and on the second floor.
Directions say to place the unit as close to usage point as possible. Easiest place to put it is right next to the compressor and lines feed away from it. But I could put it in the garage with one line going down to it and then a return back up. I guess my question is are there any issues with height placement relative to the compressor in terms of optimizing how water can travel inside the system. Is it better to place it above the compressor or below the compressor or it doesn't matter at all. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1444079005.jpg |
I have always placed mine at the lowest point on the exit from the compressor. And I usually install an auto-drain in front of it, pipe the blow off outside or into a drain.
