LMAO, what a joke. Servers can easily clear $300 a shift with tips these days. All with zero training or skill. You guys just keep tipping $40 up front or 25% for mediocre service. The 20 year olds banking $6k a month will thank you for that. I've heard of early 20's bartenders making $600 a night in OC. Yeah, that really makes sense.
I can't tell you how liberating it is to travel around the world and not be encumbered by the pressure of tipping in most cultures. We do tip for good service, even when tipping is not an accepted practice. It feels great to tip when there's not a gun pointed at your head. I HATE the American tipping culture. What a ripoff. |
I leave a few bucks as a courtesy.
15%? 20%? 30%? No. Not my job to pay their salary. Obama already has a pretty good corner on that redistribution of wealth racket. If you don't like it, then get a job with a regular wage structure. Or fight the powa and change the system. I ain't your sugar daddy. |
The obligatory Mr. Pink, yet again. For the birds...

What% in this case
Last week we were having a discussion about tipping, there is a local sports bar where you order via IPad. A group went there for a casual dinner, and the server was not at all attentive, he just handed us the IPad and left, then he brought our drinks and food when it was ready, no real conversation.
I don't think the normal 15-20% should apply? Jeff |
