WTF??? Maybe Al Gore was Right and Rush was Wrong?
Could we be looking at a new weather paradigm for the future? Today's 113 in my community crushed an ALL TIME record, previously set at 103 in Sept of 1978. That's not just for Oct 9th, but the highest temp ever recorded here.
I'm not sure humans are causing this. Come on...20,000 years ago we had an ice age putting Manhattan Island under a 500' thick ice sheet, and glaciers carving up Yosemite. We weren't using aerosol when that started melting. I think it's a natural earth cycle, but at this rate, we could see some large migrations in the next 500 years. 30" of rain in SC in 24 hours? Bluefin Tuna caught off the Ventura Channel Islands? Wahoo caught off Oceanside? 4 years of virtually no rainfall in California? Soon we'll be moving my avocado trees to Portland. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1444431917.jpg |

in before the move
I would worry more about your car standing up on the driver's door The virtually no rainfall here for years is not really a new thing. |

FWIW, I am so out of touch. Just stumbled upon "Eff you, I won't do what you tell me". Cranking it now. My kids leaving six years ago set me adrift. Last cool song they turned me on to was "Two Trailer park girls go 'round the outside." I am the walking dead. Rained in Akron today. |
History that we have managed to reconstruct from fossil evidence shows significant swings in global climate patterns over the history of the earth. Nothing we do will change that. Guaranteed that in 1000 years, where we all live will look a lot different.

Saw the first flock of geese today.........they were flying north.

My theory is there are so many more azz holes in society every year....that hell is actually coming north - which is why it's getting hotter.
What's your theory? http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws....27367169e9.jpg |

Midwest has benefited. Great summer weather in the 80s. Plenty of rain fall... Yet less snow for a couple years now...
If California stays dry, eventually people will move out... |
Tustin, CA checking in... 101.5* in the shop today. Big ass fan was running.
(10min South of Disneyland on I 5 for reference) C |
Only hit 93 here in the desert. Was a damn nice day. :D

Ditched work early and drove home by 4pm so I can go for a bike ride. I finally looked at the temp. as I got off my car. It read 102. My wife stopped my fat ass from going out and torture myself. Instead, we went for an early dinner in a nice cool place. Yeah, it was Africa hot here today.
|
I played golf yesterday and it was 116. But it is Saudi Arabia after all. And it's a dry heat.

Tool is one of the special bands. A lot of hidden details and nuances. Amazingly creative and positive (in a sometimes oblique and sarcastic way). Been 10 years since the last album, but its kinda like a Kubrick film. Worth the wait. You like bass riffs? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ATsrCNJhic4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> PM me if you want some suggestions for good stuff or go to the music thread. |

Winter sucks. Cold sucks. I'm fine with hot / warm / whatever. I've been out surfing almost daily for the last couple of weeks without needing a heavy wetsuit. No complaints. I have a few old cans of r12 in the garage I think I should use for target practice just to keep the global warming thing happening. When palm trees start sprouting up around here and my place becomes oceanfront, I'll be happy. I say bring it. |

I'll take those cans of R-12. A local shop went belly up across the street in Van Nuys. Bought a 30 gallon tank of R-12 for $60. Spent the whole summer making money. BTW, It was nice and drizzly in Portland today. 65 degrees. You can smell the fireplaces going, the streets are alive with good music and beer. |
70 degrees in Calgary yesterday.
Love long warm dry fall seasons. Suppose to be a big El Nino year so it should produce some interesting conditions across North America. |

Doesn't make a difference what it's like outside when you're indoors all day. :(
|
We should all move underground and then it wont matter
