Does chew up tires.

I have been buying takeoffs from craigslist for dirt cheap. So we have new porsche rims and tires every couple years

Gas mileage blows.

.

sounds like you have alignment issues; or put a hell of a lot of miles on. I have been amazed how long the tires have been lasting. I do swap winter and summer wheels, but 60k and maybe the original (used) summer tires are ready to go.

Now you have me thinking about it.

We have logged 90k miles.

I'm ready for my 4th set.

Maybe Judi has a lead foot and corners too hard:>

Depends a lot on which tires you choose. The best z-rated, dry traction tires usually are a pretty soft compound and do not last long. Price of doing business.

I think most folks use the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 275/40ZR20. It is a good compromise for performance, price and longevity. For a turbocharged, AWD, 450HP+, 6000lb vehicle that will slam you back in your seat like a sports car...I really don't expect much more than 30K on a performance tire driven aggressively (it is not an F150 and I suspect that no one drives it like one except when towing).
