Strange flight from BCN to NY to CHS
 

Is this right? Mrs Rocket is going to fly from BCN to NYC-KENNEDY to NYC-LAGUARDIA to CHS?

Or does she fly into NYC-KENNEDY and make her way on her own to NYC-LAGUARDIA? An easy cab ride I'm guessing.

I didn't notice it until I got my email receipt (I know. Pay attention next time!).

Seems kind of weird that they would route her that way. Is it common?

Delta may provide transportation from JFK to LGA.

3hr 40min window to: (a) get off the plane, (b) collect luggage, (c) clear customs, (d) get to other airport, (e) re-check luggage, (f) get to the departing gate at the other airport. My money is on taxi.

The alternatives while cheaper will take longer and that's a tight window considering what has to be done.

Certainly check with Delta as Widgeon13 suggests. An airline coordinated shuttle would be a smart service to offer! Sadly, smart decisions and the people who run airlines tend to be exclusive of one another.

I live here and that transfer will be rough. It's doable but right in the middle of rush hour when arriving at JFK will make this a real nailbiter. Anything that goes wrong, and she can miss her flight. There is no way she will get to LAG in less than 1 hour at that time, even that's optimistic. The Van Wyck Expy and Grand Central Pkwy are all screwed up at those times. There are no good secondary roads to take between the airports. It will probably take her 1 hr to taxi to terminal, get off, wait for luggage and get in cab line. At least another hour to LAG, leaves her 1 hr 40 min to check in to an international flight and get to the gate. Doable but scary. Good luck to her.

Okay. I just changed it to BCN to JFK to ATL to CHS.

A 3 hour and 40 minute layover seems like plenty of time, but what can go wrong, will go wrong.
