The Cubs win the World Series!

I remember reading the book 1984 back in 1968 or 1969 and thinking that is a long time in the future. I remember think how OLD I was going to be in 2001 when I went to the movie 2001 a space Odyssey.

Judgement day for Skynet has come and gone, The movie 2001 & 2010 are long past and not back to the future.

"Marty, your father's been in the same place for the last twelve years. Oak Park Cemetery." —Lorraine

Oak Park Cemetery was a cemetery in Hill Valley. In 1985-A, it was located near industry. In this timeline, it was the burial place of George McFly, shot in 1973 by Biff Tannen. Marty and Doc both knew the location of the cemetery, suggesting that it also existed in the regular timeline of 1985, as a cemetery.

Behind the scenes
◾ It is possible that Oak Park was a location that lent its name to the cemetery.
◾ The Oak Park Cemetery scene was filmed at the Ultramar refinery in Wilmington, California.
A small "duck pond" park, on company property, was dressed with tombstones in order to make the cemetery, and the refinery can be seen in the background.
The duck pond and park were funded and maintained by the refinery's employees and were home to many ducks, geese, rabbits and turtles.
I worked there at that time. It was actually filmed in the day but cameras were filtered to make it look like night.

Back to The Future is pretty much a perfect movie.

Great story, great characters, great special effects, cool cars, Eddie Van Halen, The score is amazing too.

Pretty disappointed we don't at least have power laces.

I remember watching back to the future for the first time in 1986 on VHS. I had just gotten my first car ( a 1966 porsche 912). It, like many 911's/912's, was rusted thoroughly with a broken loose rear torsion tube and non-existent rockers and pillars.

After months of learning to weld and spread bondo, the car was in the leveling phase of painting. My dad led the way on the project. At dinner, we grilled some big t bone steaks, and chowed down on them, watching Marty and Doc. I remember watching the movie, and being so inspired- ran downstairs and block sanded the s#$% out of the thing (1:00 am in the morning or something like that).

As a teenager, I remember being somewhat disappointed after watching the movie, going back to the 912- No rear flares, no impact bumpers. It wasn't a delorian, it couldn't fly, and it wasn't capable of time travel, but it was mine, and it was all about possibilities. Today, if I could choose between a delorian and my first car- I'd choose that 912 1000 times over.

Good memories.

haha- Looking more like 1969.............. by a huge margin Cubs had the best record in the NL east during the summer, but lose to the Mets in the NL championship.
