LA Gathering this weekend?
Hey all, Thuy is running the LA Half marathon this weekend. Anyone want to get to gather at some point? We will be staying in Aliso Viejo as usual, but have to go up to the LA Convention center at some point on Saturday before 5pm, and then her race is on Sunday starting at 7am, so after that I'll be free.
I know several of you have missed seeing her the last few times, so maybe something Saturday(24th)? Maybe lunch? Dinner would be hard since we need to drive back south and get some sleep. |

I am in NorCal now, unfortunately. I need to run another half some day, but bum foot prevents it. Why aren't you running with Thuy?

I'm not a runner... She talked me into doing a Half in September... I didn't train, still finished and hurt like hell! I just don't enjoy running.

Haha - that's not the way to start liking it, that's for sure!

Hey Sid, I might be up for it. Been out of town a lot lately and trying to catch up on stuff. If dinner is not too far south I could probably do it. Let me know, cell is eight oh five 701 seven seven six six.

I'll give you a call once we have a plan. We are flexible, so just trying to see what the group thinks.

Are you proposing something with the wives, or something Sunday while she's running? I can get into town Sunday. Maybe we can do a quick canyon run and eat at Neptune's Net. Just let me know what you decide. Sat might be hard for me.

I'm good with either one! If you are busy Saturday no worries! I'll have about 3.5 hrs to kill on Sunday while she runs. I was considering heading over to the Petersen with Alarick, but I could be persuaded to run up the canyon instead!
Anyone else up for Saturday at some point? |

I'll be here (Exposition Park) working Saturday... I could do lunch and give you (and anyone interested) a behind the scenes tour of the Science Center if interested.

That sounds like a good plan! I can come in Saturday for lunch. I just need to be back in Ventura Co in time for a dinner reservation.

The Petersen is closed until December. The science center sounds cool.

AH OH! This is posted on the Science Center home page….Scott, how bad will it be?
Saturday, October 24th: Heavy traffic is expected in and around Exposition Park due to the USC Game at the Coliseum. Parking is not guaranteed. IMAX and Endeavour tickets are only available for same-day sale at the California Science Center Box Office. Avoid traffic and leave your car at home! Ride the Metro Expo Line to the Science Center, located at the Expo Park/USC station.

The USC game starts at 4:30. We might be able to get in and out before the traffic and parking gets too bad.

The Science Center is def. worth checking out. It will be awesome when they complete the exhibit in launch position with the SRBs and ET. Don't forget to check out the aquarium on the roof.
Some pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I gotta admit that I miss the old Museum of Science and Industry. It had that cool 60's futuristic vibe.... well into the 1980's. Kinda like Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
