2004 porsche 911 40th Anniversary

What kind of premium is an 40th Anniversary edition 996 worth paying over a coupe? And would you place it high on your list for a 996? I did post it in the 996 forum and there was input. Thanks

I don't follow the market for that car but generally speaking, special edition Porsches are not highly coveted unless they had significant performance upgrades.

That's not to say that it could not be a top-of-the-market car if condition and miles warrant it. What color were those?

The 40th AE and C4S still seem to be commanding a significant premium over the standard 996, I'd say it's about a $10k difference. They are pretty damn cool cars. Only 1964 made, exclusively in GT Silver like the CGT, fully loaded, M030 suspension, X50 Powerkit (340 HP I think), LSD, sport exhaust, sport seats, special finish "lightweight" wheels, full leather interior, etc. I would take one over a C4S but they're dangerously close to 996TT prices.

Sounds to me like the options are worth the premium. My Boxster was a special ed with the GT Silver paint. I don't know that is really worth much extra other than ensuring that your car isn't that much like everyone else's, but the suspension, X50, LSD, Sport exhaust and sport seats sound like a nice upgrade. I'm sure some of the comfort type options like leather are also nice to have.

I agree with Matt on this. It's a very cool car truly a "special edition" not just a trim package
No doubt the best standard, non gt or turbo 996 made.

Weren't they (x50 power pack) the fasted non-turbo Porsche in 04? They have a unique nose shared by no other. Special carerra GT silver color and polished aluminum wheels.

The GT3 was faster, but the 40th AE is faster than a C4S thanks to more power and less weight. I'm not sure if the X50 was available on a C4S, but even so the AWD and wide body weight would make it slower.

I forgot about the nose, they essentially have the TT front bumper with the three intakes and the Aerokit/GT3 side skirts.
