Any of you guys ever own a newer Volvo?
My wife's car is about to come off lease and Im on the fence of whether or not I want to keep it. With that said, I have a thing for wagons and love the styling Volvo brings to the table. I am thinking XC70. Wont buy new so I wanted to get some feedback on how well these things hold up.

Do a quick search of "Volvo". This was recently covered pretty extensively.
…With that said, I LOVE my V60. 14,500 now and not a single issue. PM Steve Carlton. He's a Volvo dealer.

Not newer but I owned a 850 and V70t and loved them both. I know a few folks that have newer ones without issues.

I had 96 850 Turbo Wagon. The thing was rock solid for 250K miles. No issues other than some failing dash lights for the stereo.
My wife has an 04 V70R. It has 60K miles on it and although beautiful, it is not in the same league as the 850. We are thinking of replacing it soon.

Agreed that the 850s were the business in as far as robustness and build quality was concerned. Had an '05 S40 2.4i and loved it. Bulletproof in general, and very easy and cheap to work on. Mine had 240000km/150000mi on it when it was killed in a collision and I'm sure it still had double that left in it. Beware that the 2.4i motor sits very low in the car, so you may end up going through sumps at quite a rate depending on the quality of the roads where you are. A very easy and not too expensive repair though.

Oh, if wagons are your thing then a 850 T5R absolutely HAS to be top of your list. Those things are insane!

As much as I would love an older one, this is for my wife and needs to be a bit newer. Our last wagon as a 528it manual with 200k on the clock. It was bullet proof. I sold it because im an idiot.

Another fan of the 850 Turbo wagon. Very well built car and surprisingly fun when you get it on the pipe!!! I would seriously love to have another one of these.

Have an '08 V50 T5, 45k. Don't drive a ton of miles, it's the "family/wife" car. Except for routine maintenance, I just put on brakes & have replaced the battery. Interior & exterior has held up well. Mileage is mediocre, 22-24 regular gas. Plenty fast enough, did great in snow, fine on the highway @ 75. We've always owned a wagon & this one has been perfect. Didn't like the bigger XC's when we were shopping. I suspect I would like the new V60 even more.

We had a 2010 XC90. Made several road trips in it and was my SO's daily driver. Never an issue. Changed the oil and that's about it. Eventually we traded it for a new Chevy Tahoe as we needed more legroom in the third row for the kids.

My wife bought an XC70 in 2005 and it still looks like new today, inside and out, with very minimal maintenance. It has had some issues with suspension parts but trouble-free otherwise. She plans on driving it until it dies because she loves it - perfect for her and our two young girls. I personally don't enjoy driving it - I like small nimble cars and driving this thing is like driving your living room!

The ex-wife had a V50 turbo wagon, the front end wore out at 40K miles. Turbo crapped the bed due to the oil line getting coked up. Fixed it sold it. Good riddance.

Yes see my recent posts on a similar thread. We have had three "modern" Volvos and they have been great and for the most part trouble free.
