NHL starts tonight. Predictions?

My sad reality: the Bruins are not going to surprise anyone. This is a rebuilding year. I'll be happy if they make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. You Habs fans shouldn't laugh. You're not doing much better.

Babcock is in for a rough year. Bylsma has already been investing in Goodys headache powder. Roy will be traded for a Snickers bar and a bottle of water early in the season. Boudreaux will be on the hot seat if they don't do well by 01/01/16.

Offense will be making a comeback. The 3 on 3 will kill defense only teams. As such, GOALTENDING is becoming more important with each passing year.

I predict I won't watch a single game this year. Easy prediction to make since I've never been a hockey fan; I suppose growing up in the desert played a role in that...lol.

There will be fewer fights, far fewer.

This will be the year that league execs figure out that '30' is now old in the NHL.

Faster, younger, cheaper. Players who thought they had five good years of high income left will head to the minors or get bought out.

Leafs - 82 points
Montreal - second in the east behind the Rangers.

And I think Pittsburgh will be better, despite adding Kessel, 104 points.

And the Oilers will make the playoffs in the last week of the season. Calgary will drop bacl to 92 points.

Out west - this could be the Ducks' year - although I ain't bettin agin da Hawks to repeat.
Down east - I'd take the Habs except for the fact they haven't any bona fide snipers unless you count Semin who'll pull a disappearing act come play-off time. The Bolts should take the east.

30... Chara wants to talk with you about that. Besides, every team wants/needs experienced player when they hit a rough patch and definitely in the playoffs. Habs behind Rangers: two strong goalies so possible

Well B's did tonight what was expected with AHL quality defense. Sweeney did a fire sale on all the best defensemen except Chara and Seidenberg and they are both IR.

There's always next year.

Looks like the B's are going to get crushed tonight.
No D and IMO, Rask isn't all that and a bag of chips. He's had good numbers only because he had world class defense to make him look good. Tonight we are totally missing our best 2 defensemen along with the ones we gave away.
