Teeth going to Hell

Had one tooth pulled, lower right, in December. They inserted the screw/bolt in today, had an upper right tooth pulled today as well. In 3 months, I get another screw implant on the upper right one. The Dentist has a set of taps similar to what you and I have in our garage including a tiny beam bar torque wrench (Top left image.).

He starts out with a small drill bit and works up to three progressively larger ones before he taps it, like you might do with metal. Dang, I always have taken care of my teeth! Its called getting old. . I feel like crap.... Hydrocodone....

Dammit, Hugh.

Teeth going to Hell.

What kind of sickness allows somebody to think that would be an interesting and entertaining thread to read?

Exactly, no lock-tight or cement, only torqued in.

CB its sort of like a cross-threaded spark plug. Bad juju.

Had one 5 years ago and getting another one in June.

Insurance only pays to the cost of a crown @ 50%...

My neighbour had one that fail (unlucky 5%, same dentist) so it was almost 16 months from start to finish.

You and I are about the same age, Hugh. I just got a crown and my dentist wants to do 2 more. So far haven't lost any but I thought about going to Mexico for those 2 crowns (see my thread a while back) because of how expensive they are.

I mean three crowns are about what I paid for my 914, to put things in context!

I never heard of that procedure you mentioned. Are you saying this is to put a new top on it...similar to doing a crown?

In all fairness, I think High needs to be the one to get this thread removed.

I have zero interest in Baz' tooth problem.

Had he brushed and flossed regularly, he would have a teeth problem.

Cracked teeth at the root. 63 years old, my dentist says old people should keep their dental insurance. $972 on my side of the insurance.

Who ghivzachitt?

If you can't chew on one end, don't that make the other end so much more tolerable?

In the last 3 months I've had 8 crowns and 8 veneers, whole mouth is new on the bottom. All crowns are cubic zirconia, veneers are porcelain. Have 8 temporary crowns up top now, waiting for teeth to come in from the lab for 16 new teeth up top.

LOL...I placed about 8 of those today.

I tell my patients that implant surgery is pretty much like a trip to Home Depot. Drill bits, punches, reamers, taps, threads, screws, torque wrenches...good times.

Oh and I highly recommend IV sedation. It makes the experience more fun for everyone.
