Tragic as always but he had a charmed life.

RIP Mr Barris.

Barris had quite a relationship with these guys. Lots of his originals are here >

Have climbed in a few and closely look them over. The original batmobile and boat is neat. Big kid fun car stuff.

RIP Mister Barris

Love people who think outside the box. Barris definitely did that. RIP.

Was able to meet him at the PGH WOW show a few years back--he was very cordial and had (2) very hot ladies acting as liaisons.

He definitely left his mark on the hobby.

Nice guy, sorry to see his passing. I met him as a kid when my Dad worked for Universal Studios and was watching them film the Munsters on the back lot. Met him again a couple years ago.

Good to know one can live to 89 after a lifetime breathing bondo dust, paint fumes and all the other chemicals and evil stuff in the auto trade. RIP George.

Very true. Even before bondo there was lead and personal protection wasn't foremost in ones game plan.
But also, George was active in the business long after he needed to be. With the sale of some of the more iconic cars in his inventory he could have retired comfortably many years back. He remained active not just in his business but with the industry in general. He really loved what he did and he did it, I dare to say, better than any one of his peers.
George's passing is a personal loss for me. He will be sadly missed.

Correct me if my recollection is incorrect, but didn't you work with George long ago, Kevin?
