How about them Royals?

Win game 1 in the longest opening game in World Series History (14 innings) and win the second game with the starting pitcher (Cueto) pitching the entire game! SmileWavy

berettafan 10-29-2015 06:18 AM

couldn't believe he went the whole game. kept waiting for him to slip but he never really did.

great, great hitting team.

bivenator 10-29-2015 06:23 AM

Good for the Royals, I could never root for the Mets. I take some solace in knowing that my Astros pushed the Royals further than any other team has thus far. In fact, the stros were just six outs from the series win before the Royals put some magic in their bats.

Enjoy and am looking forward to next year.

Looking like World Series Champions...great organization, with a really cool history.
I remember growing up in San Jose, when the local minor league team, The Bees, were a Royals affiliate. First time I heard about Kaufmanns Baseball Academy,
I bugged my Mom for weeks to get me an application.
She said no, you'll just have to be a Giants fan.
Congrats, and good luck, we will see how they do without the DH.

I'm sure glad I was able to figure out my FIOS cable problem so I could see these games in HD.
Talk about exciting baseball, this has to be one of the best series I've ever seen.

cheeze 10-29-2015 08:36 AM

I am rooting for the Mets, as I loved La Potencia when he was an Athletic. Still gotta cheer for my boy.

onewhippedpuppy 10-29-2015 11:21 AM

Loving it! As a kid, I attended Royals games to see the opposing team because they were so bad. I think their breed of baseball is how the game should be played, and they have some of the best team chemistry that I have ever seen. It's nice to see professionals having fun playing a game, because isn't that the point?

speeder 10-29-2015 06:02 PM

KC is unstoppable this year. I watched them beat up on my Twins this summer in Minneapolis.

I couldn't agree more Matt.
Just look at this picture my buddy sent me the other day. He was getting Moose and Hoos ready for an interview on MLB.
I think these guys realize how good they've got it. Making more money than they really need playing a game that so many of us have played as kids and only wish we could play now. They really look like they're having fun.

To me, this summed them up last year: Eric Hosmer and Royals teammates party with fans and throw down $15,000 for drinks | The Kansas City Star

How many MLB players will invite their fans to celebrate with them at a local bar, then cover the tab? Just an awesome group of guys, I hope KC can hold onto them for a while.

If they end up tied tonight, I'll get a little worried. Mets played great last night and totally stole the Royals swagger. Should be a great series.

t-tom 10-31-2015 09:53 PM

That was standard Royals baseball tonight. All we need is just one more! Let's go Royals!

onewhippedpuppy 11-01-2015 03:45 AM

They never quit, I love it.

flskala 11-01-2015 06:13 AM

Classic Royals baseball last night. Cain's at bat was HUGE!
Syndergaard's first pitch is going to backfire on the Mets big time.

As a lifelong Yankee fan who has as a little kid saw George Brett's bomb in person off goose gossage .... Trust me, if not for the stadium that ball would still be going. Go Royals!

Apparently Timo Perez taught Cespedes how to run the bases :)

nvr2mny 11-01-2015 06:47 AM

Out town has been electric ALL season - for good reason. Stellar players and guys. A class act all the way around. They showed they can play dirty when dirty is played against them. I'd love to see them take it at home, but I'd be just as happy to see mets get handed their hats tonight. We'll see. GO Royals!!

t-tom 11-01-2015 08:53 PM

nvr2mny 11-01-2015 09:10 PM

Well, I (along with millions of others!!) got my wish! Party On KC! Well done Royas!!

ZAMIRZ 11-01-2015 09:18 PM

Huh. I don't follow baseball at all and clicked on this thread. I went to school with that guy Mike Moustakas and just reached out to his sister and offered my congratulations.

onewhippedpuppy 11-02-2015 02:26 AM

They just don't quit. Love it! Totally worth only 4 hours of sleep last night.

widgeon13 11-02-2015 03:06 AM

Good for them, great exciting finish!

Hate the Metz!

billybek 11-02-2015 03:39 AM

Missed the game but congrats to the Royals.

KC #1!

flatbutt 11-02-2015 05:25 AM

Boy the Mets really shat the bed....but not as badly as the Giants! Congrats KC, well played!!

bob deluke 11-02-2015 09:32 AM

KC deserved to win, they had all the right stuff. Mets were disappointing last night...

Jolly Amaranto 11-02-2015 09:35 AM

That sure makes the local guys, the Astros, look pretty good. They were the only ones to really give them a run for the money over the course of the playoffs.

I bet you were glad Mad Bum was back home roping cattle during the World Series.

Yeah, he's Royals kryptonite. I'm glad he got the year off.

onewhippedpuppy 11-06-2015 03:29 AM

Did anyone else catch the victory parade?

Royals

An estimated 800,000 people turned out, some waiting in traffic for as long as 6 hours. 800k in a city of 2M........not bad KC.

Yeah, my wife and I were in the fountain (that circle looking thing in front of the stage) and could only see the big screens- bairly! ALL day affair, but completely worth it. Won't do it again tho, and I'd bet neither would @ 500,000!!!
