Septic Trench Collapse - What to do?

We are adding an addition to our house and we had to add onto our septic system to support it. The system was redone about two weeks ago, they added a new tank and a pump that sends fluids to a new leach field since the old one was too small.

Last night we had some heavy rain and a significant area around the tanks and pump sank in and collapsed. Should I fill this in and move on or is this something that my builder needs to look at? I know some settling is expected but I'm just wondering if this is a signal that something may be wrong.

The pump lives under the green cap and the tanks are out beyond that stone path.

That's just settlement around the tank. Fill it and forget it. Hard to compact soil when backfilling around tank.

We just had 1,480 feet of trenching done for water lines and the septic system was installed two weeks ago. In the last two weeks, we have experienced lots of rain and I have had to fill in areas just like your picture. The crew doing the water line trenching was extremely meticulous yet there will be voids underneath the ground that will appear later and can be fixed with just adding some additional soil and compacting. I worked alongside the gentleman doing the septic tank and field line installation. He told me in advance that settling of soil will be occurring when the rains arrive.

We don't have many septic systems in the southern CA area........most are in Sacramento! When my daughter lived in Gulf Port MS her little house had a septic tank system and now and then it would do this BUUUURRRRPPP thing and boy did that stink! It happened about every two weeks and lasted about an hour she said?

x2 Keep an eye on it but expect to backfill a couple times until everything settles

I would try to see Septic Trench Collapse at a local show rather than Coachella - too crazy. Their new album is awesome...
