Were you on Nimitz in '91? I was TAD with COMDESRON 21.
I West-Pac'd on Nimitz in 88-89, and transferred to shore duty on NASNI in 1990, so we missed each other by a year.

Joined the USAF (to avoid the USArmy) and to see the rest of the great state of Texas:.

Sept 1968 Lubbock, TX : enlisted before the draft got me
Sept 1968 Amarillo, TX: rode bus from Lubbock to induction center
Sept 1968: Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX: USAF basic training
Oct 1968: Shepherd AFB, Witchita Falls, TX for programming school.
Jan 1969: Randolph AFB, San Antonio, TX. Assigned to the USAF Military Personnel Center
Sept 1972: discharged from the USAF at Randolph AFB .

and thus ended my military service.... well somebody had to guard the home front!

Very cool! we would know some of the same people. A lot of my friends were there with our hueys. One of the rotations made this video there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BzU1sYPjzo

We all get around, don't we? I've worked with US Navy P3's in Scotland, ANG C130's for Deep Freeze (Antarctica), and US Army in Sinai, Egypt. And these guys are here in NZ for an exercise right now.
