One of them will give you pleasure to drive, all while loosing a few dollars in value a day.
One of them will give you pleasure to drive, all while gaining a few dollars in value a day. One of them is the right choice.

Burn the fire.

Can you not have both?
996 is a modern 'fun car' but compared to the SC you will feel disconnected from the road.

I've owned both models - I miss the SC more. Depends on your goals - while the 996 is a better daily driver and overall faster (and more "king of the road - I can pass anyone anytime", I'd keep the SC just based on the fact that it's more analog, involving, and it's appreciating while the 996 is depreciating. And aircooled. And you can always get another 996 later. The SC might well jump the shark for you soon, I know it did for me (by that I mean its price/fun ratio might become unpalatable shortly, and you may never own another). So keep the oldie, that seems to be smart thing to do !
