Later today, my wife is throwing a party for our daughter's daycare friends, and I am in charge of entertainment, so it came time to act on the Vette situation!

I'm sure this has been done 1000 times, but the best part (other than the car kicks arse now)- is that I got the cool Maxxis tire graphics mounted on the tire!!! :)

Now to go clean the patio before everyone gets here!

Nice! Except now she can't do donuts on the concrete like my 5-year old does in his black Corvette.

My daughter outgrew her Barbie Jeep but she had a blast tearing around the yard. Now she uses our John Deere.

I used to wrap rubber bands around hard plastic RC car wheels. Same principal!

My dad would have figured out how to mount a 5HP Briggs to that thing.

edit- I've been worrying that the people from TIRERACK are going to come and yell at me because I only did the back tires, and I should do all four tires for even handling!

Only do that if it plows when given steering input.

I'm envisioning about 20 kids. Some will be on the swingset. Some will be in the bouncy house thingee. In another corner of the yard I will have a chalkboard giving a short session on understeer to a bunch of three year olds! If you find your self plowing straigh- lift off the gas to weigh down the front to reduce the understeer. This ISNT a 911. Got it kids?

Yep. That's the problem with electric cars. All that torque from the hit of the throttle.

Now that you've addressed the traction issues, there is a 24V upgrade in order!

Jr Sauce got a "Bat-Quad" for his first birthday...with a lame 6V system. The 12V upgrade from a full size PowerWheels was just enough to make the grass no match and asphalt is a drift and donut dream for shorty.

friend of mine did the same with his daughter's power wheels Jeep--used a piece of old conveyor belt, but he used #14 hex head screws--so in addition to the rubber, the screw heads also give additional traction--obviously for yard/dirt use only though.

I'll see if I can get some pics of the PW Jeep my buddy just built for his 1yo. Twin motor, 24V set-up, 100% Remote Control. Steers with power window mechanism and throttle is generic hobby servos and some home made electronic speed controller magic...

No, but an extra battery does -) Substantially !!! I went from 12V to 18V for my kid by adding one small extra battery and 2 wires (plus one fuse), I hear you can do 24V but I thought the gearbox might explode... The thing is really fun with 50% more power ! The kid is a master of lift-off U turns, donuts and countersteer now !

Last hurdle is to get him to stay focused on where he's going at all times, as he can now drive into parked cars harder when looking back proudly instead of forward!!!!

Dang it! My daughter outgrew her Jeep or I would try the 18V upgrade.
