New neighborhood ER Clinics- what kind of docs?
It seems like neighborhood ER clinics are opening all over the place in the DFW area, I imagine they are opening too elsewhere.
I was wondering kind of doctor works there? Not everyone can graduate at the top of their class, so is that a stepping stone for graduating med students? There also seem to be two kinds of neighborhood ER clinics, those affiliated with major hospitals and then the seemingly private ones. I would imagine the private ones make money by being out of network and able to charge full price. In any case, wondering about the staff there. |

One or two docs supervising a whole staff of ARNPs or PAs usually.... Not likely you will see an actual doc for most visits.
|
Most ER visits are handled by the RNs anyway, they will be the ones stitching you up, starting IVs, drawing blood samples, and even administering medicine. The doctors are there to supervise, write RXs, and handle the major injuries.

Yep. PA's.

PAs, NPs, Family Medicine physicians looking for the lifestyle of an ED spot, others seeking the no-strings-attached freedom of that sort of practice. Quality runs full spectrum--not unlike everywhere else.

With the number of these you see opening in Dallas, I imagine the profits must be huge, or does it follow that old joke about doctors and business.

The one in my area is owned by hedge funds or private equity.
