What's your comfort song?
Just heard mine, again. James Taylor's " Going to Carolina"
Snowing here now & Carolina is a good place to be. |
That's a good question.
My first reaction was "City of New Orleans", the Arlo Guthrie version. Either that or "Rocket Launcher" by Cockburn... |
More than a feeling - Boston

Came home from VN, 1970, short school in San Diego. Nobody to hang with so I went to a topless bar, couple of beers, and on came a dancer that looked like Meg Ryan dancing to "Spirit in the Sky". Can't hear that song without a smile on my mug. :D

"Battle Flag" by Lo Fidelity Allstars

Just about anything by Beethoven.

The fourth movement of his (Beethoven) Ninth Symphony features an elaborate choral setting of Schiller's Ode An die Freude ("Ode to Joy"), an optimistic hymn championing the brotherhood of humanity.
|
I might say Songbird - Fleetwood Mac.
|
Hmm.... Of the top of my head I would say "Susan's Floor" by Gordon Lightfoot. But then there is Townes Van Zant's "To Live Is To Fly". The Cowboy Junkies do a good cover of it.

Poco...Rose of Cimarron.

Never heard of a comfort song. But I guess I would say, "The great gig in the sky" Pink Floyd.
At least I'm sitting in my easy chair, feet up, and scotch in hand. |
"Let's Stay Together" by Al Green. Has a deep significance to my wife and me.

Louie, Louie. I don't know why but that song always makes me feel good.
|
For several reasons: "Let It Be" but Louie Louie is right up there also.
