Came home from VN, 1970, short school in San Diego. Nobody to hang with so I went to a topless bar, couple of beers, and on came a dancer that looked like Meg Ryan dancing to "Spirit in the Sky". Can't hear that song without a smile on my mug. :D

The fourth movement of his (Beethoven) Ninth Symphony features an elaborate choral setting of Schiller's Ode An die Freude ("Ode to Joy"), an optimistic hymn championing the brotherhood of humanity.

I might say Songbird - Fleetwood Mac.

Hmm.... Of the top of my head I would say "Susan's Floor" by Gordon Lightfoot. But then there is Townes Van Zant's "To Live Is To Fly". The Cowboy Junkies do a good cover of it.
