getting married in the spring... how to incorporate the 911?
Hello all,
I am getting hitched in Palm Springs in May of next year. My girl and I are interested in finding a way to tastefully incorporate the 911 into the mix. I thought I'd ask if anyone has done something in their own wedding (or even a friends). If anyone can share ideas? pictures? insights?.... please do so. For now, we just plan to drive from the church to the reception in the 911, but are open to other ideas if any. We already took our "save the date" pictures with the car as a backdrop, but nothing else. Much appreciated and would love to see what y'all have done in the past. -Sammy |
Congrats. There have been quite a few weddings on this site. Here is one topic.

the best wedding pic i ever saw was on this site. it was just a photo with a 911 (their car) as a prop. BEST pic ever.
i vote you simply use it as a prop for a few pic and move on and focus on the day and the new bride. |
Here you go Sammy, and congrats!

I hope you didn't pick the 17th as your day. Beth and I got married on the 17th and I haven't been able to get rid of her, been trying for thirty years

Phew, I've been through the spouses thread and I think I need a drink after seeing Tim's wife to get my heartbeat back to normal.

5/21/05 here! 911SC was present at the wedding.
We left to the hotel in it and then took a 3,800 mile Honeymoon road trip 2 days later. Awesome time! Take it slow and enjoy your day! Such a fun time being Newly Weds. Congratulations! Cooper |
Thank you Cooper, 5/21 is ours as well, will do!

Thanks for posting. |
If you have a great photographer, tell that person you want the car incorporated. They should have a number of great ideas...bride sitting in seat, door open, one leg out...black and white...you get the idea
I was going to have mine at my wedding until I considered the fact that there would be a lot of drinking, insurance doesn't allow overnights in parking garages...and I really didn't want the concern. |
Keep it idling by the back door - as a getaway car......

Some thoughts;
Sports cars are great. Women are great, (when they are). Sports cars/speed boats/motorcycles/snowmobiles/etc. are part of a fun lifestyle for many people and provide joy. That's all they are. Your wedding day is ostensibly the most important day of you and your bride's life so far and it's generally considered a pro tip to keep the focus on the bride as much as possible. If it was me, I'd leave my sports car/motorcycle/biotchin' modern house/etc. out of the equation, (and the wedding photos), as much as possible. Years from now, you don't want your wife to remember the day she shared your love with your car. Does that mean I wouldn't drive home from the church in it? Hell no, sounds like fun! But give it an extremely small supporting role and then enjoy it and whatever other fun objects you own everyday afterwards. JMHO. :) |
x2. I was thinking the same thing since this thread started. Denis stated it well.

I think it depends on the woman. I was at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta a few months ago and thought the heritage center (museum section) would be a great place for a reception.

Yeah, but... you're PorscheGAL.
