That was cool. The sound of that thing is amazing. Too bad it's fugly and nowdays most people would mistake it for a Hummer.

FYI: You can watch more episodes of the show off of the NBC website.

I saw one of these Lambo's at the Concours d'Elegance in Troy, Michigan at the St. John's golf course earlier this year. It was under a tent, and not part of the main outdoor show.

It was nice to be able to study the details up close.

Loved those things since they day they came out. A local guy owns one. They had a guy on the show Beyond 2000 beating the snot out of one.

A guy near where I live has one. Those tires have to be seen in person to appreciated. They are insane.

I've only seen one of these "in real life" and that was about 1991 or so. I was fueling my pickup truck and I hear this brilliant sports car sound pulling into the gas station. I turn around and can't find the car. Literally had my head on a swivel - no such car in sight. The driver blips the throttle before shutting it off and that's when I realized all that mechanical music was coming from the gigantic off-road vehicle right beside me!

It's weird to think of them as gigantic but it was a seriously large vehicle at the time. Now every soccer mom drives something even bigger which makes these seem rather ordinary in size. Not in sound though, no SUV on earth sounds like this Lambo! It didn't just color outside the lines, it consumed the entire box and blew technical smoke out its pipes!

I think they are (or were recently) NLA. If so, what would a fella do?

According to the Leno video, they are once again available from Pirelli (without the Kevlar belt).

4500 bucks apiece...

3 options. Find some used examples, somewhere. Replace them with the closest size available. Might need new wheels to accomplish this. Talk Pirelli into making a run of them and buy them all.

That's what takes the fun out of owning stuff like this. Sooner or later you need something that doesn't exist. That's why I got rid of all of my exotic crap.

I have a friend that has a rare plane that needed tires. It was one of 5 of it's type still flying. Goodyear had a minimum of 500 tires in a production run. Everybody got together, a run was ordered, now they all have 100 tires, each, for their planes.

Indeed. Had only seen one and was on the expressway. This was when they first became available in the US.... whatever year or few that existed. I forget what the trim level was originally but it was already pimped out, all white incl. wheels. That was the era of AMG, glued on skirts, spoilers, gold grills (gag). Anyways, I do recall hearing the growl from behind then watching the cruising white LM002 passing in the left lane, big honking tires.

I could see getting rowdy with one of these.

A buddy has one, very cool(and, like all of his cool cars, he drives it), have loved them since they came out. Took these pix a few years ago.

It must be really hard to keep a car clean in the desert, no matter how much money you have.

Nice door dent. Ferrari treated in the manner of a Camry.

That Lagonda looks surprisingly good in that color...someone needs to point out the flat tire to the driver, though!
