Lightbulb Registered my old 911 as an antique today

Advantage? Exempt from future tax, tag and title fees.

Texas finally did away with their little model A logo thank god. Hard to beat a deal where you pay $62 for 4 years and no inspection.

Ours is $26 for the rest of the car's life.

Clever! I like it. $26 forever? Better deal than here. I think my Speedster plates were $46. But, doesn't it come with some restrictions? Like you can't drive to work or to the hardware store - antique car events only?

Terv... well I am a former prosecutor years ago. That being said they aren't too strict on antique tags. I looked at the statute and it's kind of vague and ambiguous. Basically you can run vintage tags or a tag that is appropriate or representative of the historical era of the vehicle. I think I have an argument to use this tag I had made up with my antique tag number on it. I don't think I'll have any problems.

wd...nope. No use restrictions. Just 25 y.o. About 30 % of the cars in my poor state run antique tags.

That's a smokin' deal! With $56 annual registration fees, and 25 year old cars not being all that bad for dds these days, one could legally buy an antique plate for a beater DD and never buy tags again.

Forgive the sacrilege if you're a purist but I'm building a rally replica hence the mudflaps on my tag

Excellent! I like a little variety. Perfect wheels for a rally car IMHO.

What is this sacrilege, of which you speak?

I like it, skidplates front and rear, go rally the heck out of it, like this, only more red. I like the lead edge of the wheel well gravel mudguard

Love the sharpie art as much as i love gravel flaps and raised stance. I just changed my collector plate to a "same year vintage plate" that i picked up. Matches the crusty butt . No annual fees with some mileage restrictions but whos counting..

.....and ALL of the pulpwood trucks with no windshields or turn signals so the driver will sometimes stick his left arm out the window and repeatedly flex his fingers in and out of his hand.....that's a left turn.
