paypal "pay after delivery" service

Paypal has decided to offer "verified" users to inspect their purchases and pay up to 14 days after delivery...but only "verified" users. Verified users link their paypal acct to a bank account.

This seems to offer another layer of insurance between a buyer and fraudulent sellers at the expense of providing access to a bank account.

I'm not wild about using paypal but wonder how many sellers will offer it as an option and how long until the problems start to show up.

I cannot see small sellers using that service.

It's more of the three tiered economy, where there is a paypal or paypal-like entity between buyer and sellers at one level, a credit card economy at a higher level, a cash economy locally. I don't see a problem with it with some exchanges, but it's not a model that works for all levels of the economy.

I don't like this...

I'm a little miffed with Paypal right now. More, really, at a jerky buyer.
Had a buyer order something. Received them, loved one, but not the other. So I replaced the other with something else that he could try. It was what I had suggested in the first place.

Plenty of time goes by. More than the 45 days it used to be...
He filed a significantly not as described a few days ago. Returned all three. Turns out, he never even tried the replacement.

I don't like that people can now used something for 180 days (or however long they upped it to) and then change their mind. I bet he found a used pair for sale somewhere...

^^

That's my biggest concern of selling on eBay. I deal with it at the post office with postage due on return to senders. You think you're mad. Get one of those and your day turns to crap.

You need to take control of your own merchant processing.

Not nearly as expensive to do MOTO transactions as it used to be.

Then you can control the return policy.
