Mixed martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey has a huge fight coming up in November against Holly Holm that’s set to break a UFC attendance record.

And one thing’s for sure: Ronda is going to be having a lot of sex leading up to it.

While plenty of athletes swear off sex before a big game, meet, or match, Ronda says she does the opposite.

“I try to have as much sex as possible before a fight,” she once said in an interview that's making the rounds again online. Why? Getting down and dirty raises testosterone levels in women, she says, so it can make her a better, more aggressive fighter.

"I don't put out Craigslist ads or anything," she said but added that if she
has a steady boyfriend, there’s going to be some serious sex going down pre-fight.

That’s a 180 from the tactic taken by a lot of male athletes—including fighters. Mohammed Ali once reportedly said he used to go six weeks without sex before a fight.

Soccer players do it, too: Miguel Herrera, the coach of Mexico’s 2014 World Cup team, banned his players from having sex during the tournament last year. "If a player can't go one month or 20 days without having sexual relations, then they are not prepared to be a professional player," he told the newspaper, Reforma, per Yahoo. Burn! Chile, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Nigeria’s teams also played under a similar ban.

For the record, research has never shown that skipping sex before a big game has any impact on athletic performance.

Also, Ronda is a bantamweight champion and abstaining from sex sucks, so…we’re going to go ahead and say she’s right.
