Strangely enough, I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news. I guess it was that kind of thing for me.

JUST rolled into my carport after coming home. Sat there stunned. It is as vivid as Kennedy's death.

The dream is over

Woke up the next morning and heard the news...I remember it like it was yesterday.

RIP John Lennon.

You're welcome, sir. It really does seem like it just happened yesterday. :(

The day the sixties ended and the eighties began.

Imagine how much music we missed ...

sc_rufctr 12-08-2015 11:05 PM

I was 15 at the time. It had a profound affect on me even though I wasn't a Beetles fan.

RIP Sir.

The only time I ever saw my father cry was when Lennon died.

Its funny, You hear someone play the same song for years and get sick of hearing it.

I am grateful this was caught on video...

I admit that I shed a tear. I felt like I had lost a friend. Perhaps I was duped by him and his image but he helped me change the way that I viewed the world.

I was on board until the author decided to belittle Lennon's talent.

Then, it just sounded like someone carrying a grudge, but if the stories about Julian are true, well, that's just tragedy on a lot of levels...

I can see a lot of what the author was saying happening. Everyone has their own take on things - sometimes getting a different perspective helps get a better big picture.

Sometimes the myth is greater than the man. Doesn't mean the man didn't contribute because of course he did. Remarkable talent, indeed.
