Ah. I think you mean valet. My first job was a parking lot attendant - ie, Professional Speed Bump. Worked for a small (10 biz) merchant's association that had limited parking right across from UF. Every Saturday from 730am to 5pm, sometimes 6pm if there was a late starting football game. Basically tell people they can't park there to go to the game, the bar in the next block over, the bookstore the other direction, etc. Should they ignore me, I had a choice of calling the police to issue a ticket, or to have 'em towed.
Only had one ******* towed in 2 years. Law school graduate driving a brand new Mercedes. Insisted he had always parked there for games, and if I had him ticketed he would sue me for so much I'd be working forever at $25/day to pay him off. So off he goes to the football game, and I check with the boss about having him towed. "Just call any place you can find that can send someone". Being the ******* I am, I called a tow company in Melrose - little town about 30 min away in a different county, famous only because they had different liquor laws and you could buy bottles there until 4am (instead of 2am locally) and on Sundays. When asshat law guy came back looking for his car, I told him where he could find it. Ended up costing him a few hundred dollars between cab fare and impound/tow fees, and giving me a warm fuzzy feeling whenever I think about asshats... ![]() |
