A lot of work in those laminated frames. !
You must be a genius to do that for a one off . What method do you use to get the frame shapes ? I made the mast partner out of oak for my Sailboat . It has a lot of shape to it. ( the boat is all wood ) The piece is about 8' long with a pretty good radius in it . Is about 5 inches thick , 4 inches wide , made with several laminated pieces . I ended up jigging it up on plywood using pieces of steel angle iron bolted dwn to attain the curve . I am quite sure you got the frame shapes quite differently . For me, it was Water , steam, epoxy . Took a couple days. And I thought I was the only boat builder on here ....LOL She will be pretty ! Looks like some tumblehome in the aft , Love the look . |
I love such projects!

I am not sure why I am drawn to these build threads. I know nothing about boats or boat building and live in a landlocked area of The Great White North. There is just something that is fascinating about these builds from scratch and I would love to see the process someday if I am in Mr. Verburg's neighborhood. Thanks for posting these... |
x2
I know just enough to be dangerous and cant get enough. I got the bug with a kayak and then a small pulling boat, nothing like this. great stuff. |
I grew up in a boat yard
my dad built 23 ft wood power boats about a 100 of them in the mid 50's then sold that biz and built a 40 ft sportfish boat for himself |
