Are the Pens cooked without Fleury?

It's getting close to that time of year when everyone looks at the standings. If you ain't in the playoffs by the Allstars game then statistically your chances go through the floor. The Pens are in total disarray. Cindy Crosby can't buy a goal. Fleury is IR. Letang is on 2 week holiday and sadly, Dupuis had to hang up the skates. New coach hasn't found a magic formula yet. Do they have a shot?

In other news, the Habs are dropping fast with out Price. Will they stay on top? I doubt it but they will still be a contender.

Flames are above .500 for the first time this season handing the leagues top team a 3-1 loss.
Nice to see some excitement back in their game....

Wow 84 views and only one comment on the flames.

Pens get blown out at home tonight. Not good. I predict trade rumors will start to fly but nothing will change until summer. Habs not looking much better.
Only crocodile tears for both teams from the Bruins fans.

LOL.
Pittsburgh looked defeated on the ice long before that game was over. They seem flat no energy on the bench. Something is definitely going on with that team that needs some attention.
Montreal is certainly missing Price. They have only two or three wins in the past 10 games. They are not giving their backup any support by doing some scoring. Their wins earlier in the season were not blow out games but they were scoring enough to win and Price was holding them in.

Now back to the Flames....
Going for 8 in a row against the Blues. St. Louis is pretty solid this year and Calgary typically doesn't perform well in afternoon matches. Seems like if the Flames can get them to overtime they will win.....

The Canadiens are missing Gallagher more than CP.

The Penguins are top heavy with players past their prime. Two or three good/great players and bunch of AHL linemates. They are a playoff team at best, not a contender.

The Flames could win the Cup if they could get the league to play 3 on 3 in the playoffs.

Flames will be back in the basement by playoff time.

Slow start by those Flames and a pretty good effort to get close.
The great thing about being a Flames fan now is that no one is expecting great things from them this year but they are still playing entertaining (for the most part) hockey.

Gallagher standing in front and drawing penalties is a big deal for them Habs. His absence is the reason they are not scoring. Price being gone is the flip side of the same coin.

Hey Joe

Re: Pens - yes for the moment & yes they have enough time to turn things around for a shot - Hell, even the Canucks ain't totally out of it - yet! I'll side with Bill on this one - the Flames can be a very entertaining team to watch. Dallas might be the team to take it all come play-off time although it pains me somewhat to say that. Also I am very surprised how poorly the Ducks are faring thus far. Things could get real interesting in the stretch drive.

Cheer

Montreal's woes continue 1-8-1 in the last 10. Crushed by the Preds tonight.
Seems like not much of a team when you take Price out of the mix. They'd been in the basement if they didn't win the first 8 out of the box this year.

Pens finally get a win when Crosby isn't playing after 5 losses. Crosby will be in trade rumors any minute now.

Could this be Ovi & Washington's year? Trots has found a way to make it work.

The Atlantic Division has a spread of 4 points from 1st through 5th! with even Ottawa only 5 points from top spot. A streak (good or bad) will totally change the lineup. Fingers crossed that the B's can keep going.

Oh, BTW, Raffi Torres still hasn't stepped foot on the ice this season. Still has 8 more games to watch. :p
