Cool looking drawing, I wonder if there's any truth to it? I have always loved a shooting brake, I think the original 928 is a timeless design. Porsche doesn't currently offer any sort of GT coupe to compete with the 6-series and S-class coupe, and really there's not a similar product in the VAG family. So it would make sense.

The '83 928 I had was the best driving car I've ever owned, and likely always will be.
It was many years later before any manufacturer produced something that felt as solid and stable at speed. |

The 928 may be a V8 beast but is perhaps the most visually unsettling car I have ever seen.
The drastic clash of the angular front wedge and the bulbous round ass is extreme. As if 2 totally opposite cars from different decades were fused together, like those custom limos. My brain simply can't reconcile it, |
I've never gotten that from the styling. Especially in the original smooth and un-spoilered form, it was very much "the egg". An unusual looking car, to be sure, but I've always thought it was softly beautiful.
The thing that has always fascinated me is how influential the 928 was on the entire automotive industry. You can look at any new car today and find something that first appeared on the 928 nearly 40 years ago. It was something completely new and different when it appeared, and that doesn't happen often in the automotive world. |

I like the first couple of years. But the Euro versions as they weren't hobbled.
