The guitar was there before him I believe, but the Canadians paid for space station time to record the song and make a music video.

Chris Hadfield, fighter jet pilot with a childhood long drive to go to space. Two shuttle flights, also commanded the ISS. Might want to check out his TED talk sometime.

My two thoughts on this are as follows:
1. I wish I could photoshop videos and include zira and cornelius singing along, but, that is not going to happen.
2. If I were in a space station, I wouldn't have the guts to play that. Too much tempting fate! :)

Awesome info. Please note, not discounting anybody who makes the cut. OMG, I was an accountant. I kept track of things. How scintillating is that (NOT)?

These guys are Gods.

The Planet of the Apes "Photoshop" pics were pretty damned funny, though.

I am looking up Chris Hadfield TED now.

Regarding fear, Neil Armstrong mentioned in one of the docs on him that it took a couple of years to get over that. Essentially, as a kid (early 20's) he shifted his mid set. Saved his own life and saved colleagues X number of times. The Gemini docking mishap capsule rotation has got to be the topper. But there are about three or four more.

Hadfield is cut from the same cloth.
