Are You A Harbinger Of Failure?
Are you a harbinger of failure?
See Harbingers of failure: meet the customers you don Marketing researchers identified a group of people who tend to buy new products that then fail in the market. "A recent paper in the Journal of Marketing Research has identified a group of customers whose support for a product is a “harbinger of failure,” a signal that the product will eventually flop. “Increased sales of a new product by some customers can actually be a strong signal of future failure,” researchers write." I wonder if these customers have characteristics that could help identify them?. And if their failure-predicting power crosses product categories? |
Is my opinion relevant?
Hmm. Small MT performance wagons no longer readily available in the US. Can't find the CDS I would like at the record shop. Can't find a simple velcro watch band anymore. Maybe I should market myself for a 2nd job as anti-marketing consultant!
