Question Sony Cybershot to Apple MacBook Air

Do any of you know how to get photos from an older Sony Cybershot Digital camera onto a MacBook Air? I am new to the MacBook. When I connect the camera to the computer, the computer does not see the camera. I did some googling on the subject and could not find anything helpful.
Worse comes to worse, I will do it tomorrow on my PC at work.
The camera is a Sony DSC F717

Thanks

You could try an SD card reader connected to the Air via USB. They are on Amazon and Ebay for a few bucks.

Yes that is an option. I think at this point it will be quicker just to make the trip to work tomorrow and grab them off the camera to the PC.
I took the Sony camera today to photograph a car I am selling, never thinking that the camera and new computer were not compatible. I should have brought my newer camera. I guess it is a case of being an old dog comfortable with what they know.
Thanks Motion.

image capture app that's on your macbook.
Up in the top right corner click on the magnifying glass, in the spotlight search bar type in image capture. The top hit will be image capture app, click on it.

When I download video from my dash cam I fire up image capture, plug in the dash cam, then turn on the dash cam. Just saying that's how it works for me. Good luck
