So sorry for your troubles. Please believe me when I say, if I were closer I'd have helped you dig those holes man. All blessings to you and yours.

Lost my father over Christmas a few years back.
Next year one cat from sudden kidney failure overnight. No warning. Blocked ureters from early spaying the vet said.
The next the other cat...almost...with a bad neck abscess. Two visits in surgery and spent new years driving around for proper meds.
This year was uneventful thankfully.

Keep remembering the good times. They had a good life.

So sorry for you Gary. Prayers sent for you and your family.

It is not the holes in the back yard it is the holes in your heart that take time to get backfilled.

So true, Tabs. My strategery is to have plenty of dirt around to make the backfilling easier. Two days ago an SUV pulled out in front of my daughter and she t-boned it at 35mph in a Ford Focus. She's due in May. No injuries.

Last night, New Years Eve, she fell asleep in the arms of her husband in front of my fireplace while the Spartans got trounced.

I told everybody I was crying about the game.

So sorry Gary. You have ripped both my wife and my heart out. We felt WE had a bad 2015 but as they say somebody always has it worse. Best of luck to you my friend and may you have a great 2016.

I had to dig a grave for our 15 year old dog about 11 months ago. It was not easy to do, literally, it was -20 and I had to get through 10" of frost. Fortunately I have a backhoe but it still took about 4 hours, 4 frozen tear filled hours.

Gary - I hope 2016 is better for you and wish your daughter and family all the best.
