Anyone attend Monaco Grand Prix? Funs stuff to do in/around the time?
Hey all
Have the chance to attend Monaco GP this year and wondering what are the fun other events in and around the time? I'm honestly more interested in vintage sportscars (50's-70's) than F1, but of course I'll go to the race to see the spectacle. Any tips? |
Book you accommodations early. The place fills up for the week.
Bring buckets of $s. I would think a visit to the casino would be interesting, one of your buckets, done Walking the track in off hours is pretty neat. I could hang at the waterfront to check out the yachts and "beautiful people" For hours. thats a show in its self. Have fun, Richard |
Drive a model T and park it in front of your hotel.

I have family there luckily so I'm familiar with the town and have accommodations taken care of - looking for the fun car stuff =)
Funny story - maybe 3 years ago I saw a beautiful gold Carrera 3.0 in the basement parking lot where my family lives - left a note (wife wrote it in french). Just recently I get an email response! Well by then the seller along with the rest of the world knew what a mint Carrera 3.0 was worth, and it was offered to me at a six figure (euro) sum. I declined. |
Attend the vintage event two weekends before the GP.

I'll be in the area during that week; is it truly outrageously expensive?

Monaco is fairly bonkers even during "normal times" and the roads are such that it doesn't make great sense to camp out across the border and come in for events, so I'd venture to guess "yes".
