John Hiatt is coming to town!

The same goddamn day John Prine is coming to town.

You have got to be kidding me; this isn't solved with a flip of the coin.

That's a good problem to have. Both in my pantheon.

Go with Prine. After the neck cancer, I'm grateful he's still here, and at the end of the day he's written the better songs.

I've seen both of them. Go to John Hiatt for sure.

If I had to choose, it'd be Hiatt for me.

I've seen Hiatt several times over the years, solo and with the Goners....if Sonny Landreth (best slide player since Duane IMO) is with him then I know what I'd do

Oh yeah...JH is fantastic alone too...

Last time I saw Hiatt (about 2 years ago) the show was awesome. He really wasn't promoting any particular new record so he played all his best stuff from start to finish. Great show! He is truly an American treasure.

Agree with above, John Hiatt. one of the most low-key but entertaining shows.

I have seen John Hiatt many times. Always a great show. Never seen John Prine though. I do have some of his music in my collection though. Every time I hear "In Spite of ourselves" I crack up.

Playlist made of my Hiatt and Prine, I'm gonna do the research this weekend and make a decision by Monday morning.

"...don't think Ronnie Milsap is ever gonna record that song"

"...sitting on the back porch drinkin' Orange Crush, wonderin' if it's possible for me to still blush....

I was gonna get offa that barstool...

Had the pleasure of many Hiatt shows, he's always had a great backup band, with Sonny, or NMAS, but I really loved the Michael Ward era. Still like his playing with Ben Harper.
