Is there a plummer in the house
 

I have a clog somewhere. I can't find a cleanout anywhere around the outside of the house. On a slab no basement. Can I pull a toilet and run a snake down the toilet hole?? Any other suggestions. Thought it was the Modad so I had it vacuumed out today, but that wasn't it...

that will work, but I go from the vent on top. 4" trap almost never clog and its a mess getting that plumber in there with his snake, dealing with all the wetness, and pulling the toilet is the worst part. It is more dangerous going up to the roof with that big machine.

Yanking the toilet is the quickest and safest way to do it but be warned, if the clog is holding the water above the wax ring it is gonna get very messy very fast.

More info please. Is the whole house stopped up?

Thanks for the feedback. Super frustrated. To the question about the whole house backed up, the answer is no. Both bathrooms, back to back, tub & toilet/Shower and toilet are the ones effected. Now when we get up in the morning they will all work. And may work for a few days. I have a Modad system and looked in the stand pipe and the system was full. Alright that's my problem. Guy comes out today sucks it all out, whew glad that's over. This afternoon...toilets won't flush. I can't find the clean out anywhere so that why asking about pulling the toilet. Not happy about that but at this point I'm hoping to fix this conundrum. On top of that we are trying to get it on the market to sell....pain in the arse.

Get the lid off the septic tank and run the snake from that end. Depending on the tank you have, there will be more than one lid; you want the one closest to the house. Chances are good that the clog is near the tank. Will your washing machine drain when the toilets won't flush or is it ran to a separate drain field? Sinks will drain when there is a main line occlusion generally because the volume of water is small.

Check for a cleanout near the septic tank too, might save some clothes from the dumpster.

Don't use the attachment for the snake that looks like a little claw.

en, I can't answer your question regarding the washing machine. As to the suggestion about the clean out, I have checked all around the house with a 2 ft long screwdriver. If there is a clean out, or more less just the friggin drain line, how deep in the ground would it be?

I've encountered that behavior twice and both times it was a collapsed pipe. Both times under a slab. I only found the problems by getting a plumber to bring out a borescope. Yanking a toilet first thing in the morning before it gets backed up and trying to snake it out might be your best bet. I wish you well.

Well I gave up and called a plumber. That was the hardest thing about having to hire someone to do something that I should have been able to do myself. He found the clean out just prior to the tank, ran the snake to the tank and found the clog. So hopefully we have no more issues (pipes in the slab). Best $165 spent!
