plumbing ? - whine from hot water

Our shower has developed a whine from the hot water flow. I removed all the cartridges and cleaned everything, including cleaning the screens on the back of the check valves and soaking the temperature and control cartridges in CLR. No change. The washers all also look fine (removed while I soaked in CLR) The setup is like this: hot and cold check valves flow into the temperature chamber, and temp is set by a single dial. Water then flows to the main on/off valve above. You can see everything and hear the whine here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIxiKIUJSrg

Do I just need to replace the cartridges, and if so, the temperature or flow control? Or both?

air in the line = leak letting water out

you cleaning could let air in but does it constantly make noise
the whole time it is running or just a few seconds ?
is the noise tied to hot only cold only or both

is there a back way in not thru the tile
but access from an other side ?
but leak could be far away on a supply line

The noise is constant, at least for the several minutes I let it run. Hot only, and no access from back without ripping out drywall.

Easier than ripping out tile.

Do you know if there's shock absorber on the line at the shower?

Air in the line.

Is it just the shower making the noise?
What is the hot water pressure like throughout the house?
If the pressure is low some newer water heaters have check valves at the inlet and outlet of the tanks. (There is a small floating ball in the inlet and outlet nipple of the tank). They sometimes stick restricting pressure.

No shock absorber that I know of. This was a new install about 6 years ago (complete demo of old bathroom and all new plumbing from the floor up). Pressure is excellent all through the house. When they did the plumbing upstairs they went with the larger size pipe (I want to say 1/2" but could be wrong) so we'd have good pressure. In testing it today, it filled a 2L jug of water in under 5 seconds, if that means anything.

Well that eliminates the tank.
