DeLorean production will continue after the brief delay. . .

Looks like DeLorean motor company will start using up those spare parts selling whole cars, made in USA for 100K. If DeLorean could have sold for that he would never have had to sell blow.
I liked these at one time until about 5 years ago when I looked inside one. The engines will be updated but you can still get these used for low $$, is there really a market for these? Will we bring back the Bricklin SV1 too?

Well I think this is pretty cool! I hope it isn't like the Gilroy Indians from 1999...

If they are going to update them, I think they should consider making them electric.

If they're going to update them, I think they should consider making them attractive.

Winning!!! Never understood the fascination.

That is a classic body by Giorgetto Giugiaro - he conceived man very simple and good looking designs - Golf, Scirocco etc. - I like it.

I would own a DeLorean if the drivetrain wouldn't be such crap.

They would really fly with electric engines.

I saw this earlier... Don't know. I think they're being very optimistic. :/

I have seen several in person, and sat in one a few years back, I wasn't impressed. I guess if you are stuck in the 80s, enjoy technopop music, have a mullet, and wear parachute pants, and have several sets of mirrored sunglasses, one of these new car are for you.

The only significant DeLorean part that's going to be new is the V6 engine, which is great news for buyers. The original DeLorean engines only have 130 horsepower, while the new V6's will have between 350 to 400 horsepower, according to Espey.
Soo..whatsi t gonna be?

I could never get into owning a dDeLorean as the engine was just pure blah, coupled to a blahmatic gearbox. I like the style when I see someone else on the road with one, but certainly no wish to own.

Not my cup o'tea! I never got it; DeLorean fever. When I was a teen, my dad worked with a guy who had one and let my father drive it home one day during lunch, I was just sorta "meh". Sorry to sound like a hater.

That's crazy. You'd have to have some sort of small fusion device.

Scott R 01-28-2016 10:27 AM

So an "update" will likely remove the CIS, followed up by a working cooling system? Because those and the damn torsion bars in the doors were the biggest headaches.

gwood 01-28-2016 12:33 PM

If they're going from 130 to 400hp, I certainly hope they upgrade the cooling system.
