Used ones sell for less than part out value. Something is pushing that price down.

That is a serious piece of kit

I just got a used, 9K mile, 2014 ML350. I wanted the 3.0L bluetec vs the new bluetec 2.0.

Its awesome. My first lux vehicle ever. Tows like a champ. Comfy. Soaks up the highway. Best highway I've seen in 8K miles of owning is 29.5 mpg.

My cousin and partner has an '11 ML350 with the Bluetec engine. Overall a nice vehicle, but he has had issues with the front end. Struts were replaced in warranty at 36K.

Not my cup of tea, but a nice car. I find the car is too wish washy in terms of steering input and ride quality.

I think my Q5 has a much better ride and road feel.

Thanks for that. Don't want wishy washy steering for sure...

The very reason I ask about them is the low resale. It would be for my wife, as long it gets her to Roundtop Texas, Dallas, and Atlanta a few times a year she doesn't care about steering response!
Any ideas on cost of repairs on these SUV's?

Test drove the turbo and the lag was seriously dangerous, I almost got hit merging into traffic when I waited for 2 seconds for tge thing to even move. I would never let my wife get one with this engine.

I have a '12 Bluetec e350. If it keep it below 2k RPM on the highway (73-ish MPH) I get 40 MPG. Crazy good gas mileage. There are some quirks like the door-mounted seat controls and the wiper stalk transmission selector, but after 40k miles I have to say it has been a really good car. Plus it fits under my 4-post lift. I took off the stock 17's and replaced them with AMG 18's. Night and day ride control and road feel. I was coming from a 540 m-tech so I was used to good road inputs into the wheel. I turned off all the "lane aware" haptic feedback crap. I don't weave when I drive, so don;t need the wheel vibrating. Headlights without the lighting package kinda suck, so look for one with that. Though I think they went all LED in 2014.

FYI, the Bluetec motor is the same on that has been running in Dodge Sprinter vans for better part of a decade. You see them on Criagslst with 300 to 400k miles.

Had an ML320 1998, not a great vehicle but lasted just fine.

Now 2006, about $ 5,000.00 repairs in 145,000 miles.

Wife really likes.
