Another one I don't understand
 

I keep seeing these faceplant posts along the lines of "Name a ____ that doesn't have the letter _ in it - I bet you can't" - eg "Name a city that doesn't have the letter 'A' in it"

What is the point of these? They get tens of thousands of replies from idiots who think they're actually being clever. Is it some sort of nefarious data harvesting, or are people really just this retarded?

Facebook changed its advertising structure to try to sneak things in as things friends did/said.

By getting your friends to comment on your stuff - you are able to expose yourself to their freinds when the fact that they hit like/comment shows up.

Its clickbait at its worst, and is the primary reason I removed myself from further interactions with facebook. (I would say deleted, but once stuff is out on the internet, its there for nigh eternity).

I fear it's the latter...

I used to think that our country's issues were due to voter apathy, but it's actually voter stupidity.
And it's my notion that the responsibility rests with the NEA.

Not you Amail, unless you jumped on the free government money, phones, subsidized rent and food stamps that so many people falsely rely on. Some people are just too stupid to keep a job, and get a proper education to know the difference between a chocolate bar that feeds you for an hour, compared to the silver bar that could easily feed you for week.

Unfortunately, they are. The social media phenomenon has inadvertently served to point out just how lame so many people really are. Whenever a NEWS show talks about what topics are trending on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., I just can't believe the idiotic things people find interesting enough to comment on and pass along. And the continuing popularity of TV shows like the Kardashians, Real Housewives, Pitbulls and Parolees, Dr. Phil, My 600lb Life, etc. just confirm the notion that the future is looking mighty bleak indeed.
