F1 Maldonado out?
He'll be missed, in more ways than one. He is said to be a nice enough guy. Little rough around the edges. I liked him. Glad he had a win for Frank.

I, for one, am not sad. He was the poster child for paid drives, a situation I absolutely hate. Given his all-too-frequent brain fades, the races will be safer without him. I can't think of a single driver in the history of the sport that had so many bizarre, unforced driving errors. It's one thing to lose control but to drive completely off the track because you were busy farting around with the steering wheel just blows my mind.

I still don't know what happened that day in Barcelona when he won - and held off Alonso (was it?). Perfect storm of tire and setup ? The guy spent longer in feeder series "repeating classes" than I did in school. I'm sure he can drive, they all can, but he never was good enough to win on talent. Yet he got one. That bugs me, it puts him the same category as Jean Alesi, a guy who had more driving talent in his pinkie than all of Maldonado.
Yeah the tap is closed for sponsorship. Venezuela is in trouble, the gov't can't spare the cash, especially with oil selling this low. So something good is coming out of the oil-recession. Magnussen gets another shot... The kid is good - not sure why McLaren torpedoed him. |

F1 body repair shops will be closing businesses all over the world. I hear the lights clicking off now.

That's a real shame - one of my favorite websites will be out of a job.

The futures market on carbon fiber will take a hit.
To me, the intrigue is over Mags. We will possibly see if he's any good. Either that, or Renault will dump him when they get the car sorted. |
