Any ARTISTS in the house?!?

I have a friend who is a musician, I'd like to get him a unique birthday present.

To that end, I thought an original drawing/painting of him performing would be cool.

It can be based on a picture I'll provide. I'm not looking for "realism," but instead something artistic, something like this from another thread:

(I contacted that artist, but he only does cars).

That's just one idea, I'm open to any other styles or interpretations.

I'm thinking something in the 5x7 range, no bigger than 8x10.

I would need it by the beginning of April.

PM me if you think you can help!

I had a very talented technical illustrator working for me some months back. He was also a very good artist. Check out his resume at https://www.visualcv.com/geoart. I can send him your contact information if you don't want to approach him cold.

Thanks patz, Vic82 is the artist who did the Ferrari piece in my original post.

I've already contacted him, he does only car subjects. Otherwise he'd be perfect for what I'm looking for, I like the dynamic feel of his work, it generates a feeling of speed and excitement, which is what I'm looking for.

Here's a picture I'm looking to base it on. Again, it can be very loosely based, this is just a basic idea.

I have a couple of good leads, but would be interested in seeing others.

Anyone else?

Since it's PAINFULLY OBVIOUS that no one here has the taste and refinement to buck up and pay the $25k necessary for my fine artwork-(my paypal account is still EMPTY)- I thought I'd share why I thought this is a neat thread.

What interested me was the challenge of how to add action and movement into a picture such as this. Realizing the "speed lines" were probably not going to work, I thought instead to use photoshop to get an idea of how to pull off the movement. The photoshop wouldn't replace the painting, but would be a quick and clean way to make a rough draft- and then painting it later. (I don't paint btw...)

I really liked the brass color of all the drums/ etc in the background, but separated the singer from the background, blurred the lower background horizontally, the upper lights vertically, and hit some cheeesy brushstroke option over the singer. The original pic is pretty low res- so he came out looking like some 1980's MTV video, and photoshop has a bad habit of doing that to a picture- but it was a fun project.

The cool thing is you could take it further burring distorting him as much as needed to get the desired effect, but I don't know how much action and movement you'd want- I mean he's not flying through a startrek wormhole or something. So anyway- this isn't meant to be a final product- but a sedate rough draft. It was a fun project fwiw.. Thanks!(It's snowing here- cabin fever)
