Question for electricians etc
Last night we had a bad storm & it looked like the power flickered since the coffee maker's clock was flashing 12:00. Everything else looked normal, until tonight when I noticed that the Leviton True Touch dimmers in the kitchen and dining room don't work. The little led on them isn't lit either. Thoughts? Can they be reset or just chuck them and get something new? I'm not crazy about them anyway.

They are likely toast. Replace them and also get one of these:
Whole-House Surge Protectors - Power Distribution - *The Home Depot |
Ok thanks will do.

Brian, I don't know if you're being served by Florida Power & Light, but we used to call them Florida Flicker & Flash. Whole house surge protectors are a good idea.

Yep, FPL. I'm definitely going to get one before something important gets fried! Thanks for the good advice guys, I'd have never considered that.

Check that some numbnuts didn't wire them in series with a gfi outlet which popped. We had a similar situation. On another storm it just so happened during the storm and i found numbnuts had wired an outlet to another light an used the stick the wire in the hole option. Once i screw mounted the wire a) was good

Esel Mann might have a point. If the lights circuitry is incorrectly tied in to a GFCI outlet branch - that might have tripped and the results would be your symptoms. Can you pull one of the dimmers out and carefully measure to see if it has a hot wire (black) feeding it? If everything is dead, it might a GFCI outlet. I'm assuming you've already checked breakers and any that are not fully On - flip it all the way to Off then back to On.
